Shopping at Johno's
Was rather taken by Sue's very pretty and clever 4 patch kaleidoscope on the 29th July Post. Sue told us that she had visited Johno's Variety Centre for the Fabric as she 'just wanted to try the concept'. Johno's is more widely know to the Dancing Mums for a wonderful array of Dance fabrics and sequins, so off I trotted to find out more.
What a lovely surprise, the store is packed to the rafters with not only Dance Fabrics and Accessories, but a great range of Haberdashery and other fabrics and more importantly, a reasonably large and continually expanding range of quality quilting fabrics with the most expensive being the Japanese prints at $14.00 per meter, of course the temptation was just too great and I bought a little home with me.
While there the owner, Robin, a friendly and very helpful lass told me of some bargains that were due in later in the week, and yes, they are now in stock.
Quilt backing, Leuteneger's Homespun 2.5 meters wide solids in black, white, beige and 5 colours at only $10.00 per meter
Sew Easy 100% Cotton batting 254 cm wide at $14.00 per meter
Quilters Cottons, assorted brands at only $2.00 per reel.
Well, that will certainly give us a financial helping hand for the Christmas fair, not to mention all those floor quilts and quillos the we seem to be making for family and friends.
So pop on down to visit Robin and snaffle yourself a bargain or two.
Johno's is at
77 Duporth Avenue,
Maroochydore.
Ph. 5443 5966 - if you get lost give Robin a call.
The store is on the left hand side, on your way to the river, not far from the intersection with the tiny old church that was. If you get as far as the Cod Hole, you have gone too far.........oh and there is rather a nice bakery next door to Johno's, does a pleasant sanger, so you don't have to spend time foraging, more time to pat and pet the fabric.
Enjoy!
