Part 5 2011 Quilt Show

Coffee Time flolks.......another 10 beautiful quilts from our Tree-mendous quilt show.

'Japanese Prints in Leadlight
Taken from a Reece Scannel design which I have sewn before only this time with Japanese prints.
The quilting was Quilt As You Go which I sewed with variegated thread and fancy stitches on my domestic sewing machine.

'Sky, Earth, Water, Fire
This wall hanging is a project I did through the Quilt University of America over the internet.
We were encouraged to use many different techniques in each of the different elements.

A Blueish Blackout - A first Quilt

'Shaggy in Pastels'
I saw this shaggy quilt in a Patchwork and Quilting magazine and love the contrast of this quilt to a traditional quilt.

750 Suffolk Puffs stitched together form this quilt giving it a lacy see through effect.

Machine quilting by 'The Quilting Fairy'
Seen at craft show on the Sunshine Coast some years ago and just had to do it!

'Worrigee Quilt'

Made in July 2006 at the Worrigee quilting group of N.S.W.

This block is a variation of the Birds in the Air block.
Machine pieced from a Bali Pop Jelly Roll.
Quilted by Fiona Bell of the Quilting Fairy.
Designed by Pam Lintott.

'Ailsa's Row by Row Quilt'

In 2009 it was decided at the Patchwork Group that we would make some Row by Row friendship quilts for those who were interested in participating.
I joind in a group of 7 members, the rows were made with myself starting and then passed around to the others to make their version of a specified block type.
Only the first and last rows were makers choice.
I was very pleased with the contributions of the other members.  I joind them all up and completed the quilt finally in 2010
The inspiration was from Sue Andrew who organised it all.  It is a very nice friendship quilt for me to treasure.

'Flower Patch'
Made for my brother and his wife to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
Browns and Creams were their choice which was a challenge for me as they are not my favourite colours.
Machine pieced and quilted with a smidgen of hand quilting.
Design by Green Fairy - Judi
