Just a tiny blog today, only one pic of a really cute quilt, but what a beauty.
And what a story.
"Where's Me Mother' is a Dawn Parker design, sewn by Ann Marsh of Buderim from a pattern donated to our group.
Organised by Marlene and bought along by her to share with us. There is now a queue forming to make more of these delightful raw edge applique quilts.
Apparently there are 3 designs in this series, Chickens, Geese, and Penguins.

Jan Phillips Workshop
After much excitement, finally the day arrived for the Jan Phillips workshop on her lovely quilt 'Freedom'.
Jan is a talented Aussie quilting tutor from Brisbane who runs Quilt Therapy Creations, tutoring to all levels of quilters.
After every quilt show our group decides what to do with the proceeds, this time around we have taken the decision to invest some of the $$$'s in subsidised workshops.
Jan's innovative take on freeform cutting and curved piecing as showcased in her quilt 'Freedom' was a great choice. No emphasis on making points meet perfectly in 'Freedom, however there were other challenges to overcome.
Arriving at the beginning of the meeting found a little group of 4 friends admiring Lorraine L.'s delightful charity quilt.
Lorraine, yes, another shy lassie hiding behind her quilt, has always wanted to try this pattern and combined the pattern with using up some of her scraps to make this really pretty charity quilt.
Opening the doors to the workshop found this.....not a body in sight!?
Soon tracked them down, all out on the patio having a delicious lunch supplied and served by Sue.
Soon back to work, where there was some serious concentration on stitching,
Consultations of colour flow,
Decisions on strip insertion,
And some deep breathing over that free from cutting
Everyone had a wonderful time, looking forward to bringing you some of the finished masterpieces.
Jan heavily quilted her quilt, each block or section in a different F.M.Q. design using vibrant threads.
