4 sleeps and then 23 Days....can you believe it?!

When that counter first went up on the blog our Quilt Show and Sale was a year away, plenty of time, but now it's just 27 days away!!!
are you panicking? breathing deeply?
no?
ahh the blessings of being organised, quilts all bound and finished, sale goodies all created and priced, quilt stories all sent off to be printed, challenge done and dusted...........
Yep, it's gonna be another fantastically successful Quilt Show and Sale.

The Quilt Show raffle quilts are the best ever, well yes, I do say that every time, but you have to agree, they are both  stunning.
'Celestial Dream' is our 1st Prize raffle quilt, hand pieced and hand quilted, designed by Gwen and coordinated by Gwen, who also did much of the hand quilting.

'Cream Fantasy' is the 2nd Prize raffle quilt, Candlewick embroidered blocks sashed with cream cotton lace.  Assembled by Wendy, coordinated by Val who also worked on many of the blocks.
Tickets are $2.00 each and are available from Patchwork group member Julie, the Old Post Office in Buderim or at the Quilt Show on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July.
Proceeds from the raffle are being donated to Najidah, a Sunshine Coast support group for women and children affected by domestic and family violence.

If the Quilt Show and Sale isn't excitement enough, it's only 4 more sleeps to our Cottage Winter School.  Classes are available to all Cottage members as well as the general public.
Each of the Cottage's 12 groups chooses a tutor and the Patchwork group are so thrilled to have Neroli Henderson, talented art quilter from Melbourne as our tutor.  Check out Neroli's Facebook page to see where in the world her work is currently touring or on display and to view her newly created pieces.
The pics below are from Neroli's classes list here and as such are covered by her copyright.

Classes Neroli will be presenting at the Winter School are:-
Paint and Pencil on Fabric, a techniques class
'The Churning', a two day project class where we will learn a number of techniques including realistic painting of a sky using metallic paints, using decorative stitches in the backgrounds as well as embellishing with stitches.
'Angelina Aurora', creating a landscape of the Aurora using fused layers of Angelina fibre, embedding metal leaf and other interesting pieces in your Angelina sheet, and reverse applique using a soldering iron.
Excited? your betcha!!
