...yep, lots of finished quilts for you. A big thank you to Marie for this weeks blog.
Thanks Marie - A.
Another flimsey finished by Wendy, it is one of the many started on her Quilting Ocean Cruise.
Marie put the finishing touches to her Jelly Roll Quilt and bought it along to share.
Sue created another Charity Quilt using the fat quarters created from donated fabric, loads of Machine quilting on this design.
Marie is really ploughing through the donated H.S.T's, she had made these 3 beauties all to be donated to Najidah.
Green and White triangles forming on point squares, again lots of lovely machine stippling.
This cute one of 'Pups and their Palaces' is also by Marie
Using a different design idea, Marie also created this vibrant charity quilt.
Val has also been productive, creating a wonky log cabin for Najidah.

Terrific Quilts, and more of those H.S.T's
Our thanks once again to Lorraine for the words and pics for our Blog post.
Thanks Lainey.
Wendy and the quilt she made on the cruise. It is a bit out of her comfort zone but she has a granddaughter who thinks it is marvelous.
Val had made the centre of this wall hanging quilt for the Lavender, Lace and Letters exhibition a few years ago. She always thought it was too small so has just added a few bits to it.
Mary interpreted Sue’s workshop last week with a bit of appliqué. When she was sewing the triangles she found a small hole and there was not enough fabric to recut the triangle. Lorraine and Sue suggested that she appliqué something over the hole. Well, she has certainly done that. Mary Poppins is floating up into the night sky and you would never guess where the hole is.
Pat thought that just 2 colours was unacceptable in her world so added a few extras from her stash.
Marcia and Marie both had purple moments. Marie added a bit of extra colour to hers.
Chris is still arranging her red and white pinwheels.
Wow, girls, some terrific quilts, Thanks again Lainey - A

Sue has made this quilt pattern before but this
one is for her husband’s office wall (I think that is what she said)

Thursday night - wow
So many beautiful things to see on Thursday night.
A few of the GTASBQ quilts were on display.
Yola's pink/green/black is really looking good.
Nice and scrappy by Denise.
and her appliqued flowers.
Debbie has made fast work of hers....................
...................hexie flowers.
Everybody was very interested - some of us wished that we had started our own SBAGTQ quilts!!!
BUT Jane B is on the home stretch......................
Jenny also needs to pick up her pace with this quilt!!
Denise was planning another quilt.
Hexies for Leanne.
Jackie's very pretty GTASBQ.
Oh, and June was there - it's always so good to see her and she, as usual, had a quilt or two to show us. Her bargello....................
and this one with a very interesting flying geese border.
AND then - last but not least - Fiona's mystery quilt.
Wow!
Oh wow!
Until next week...........................

Charity Quilts with Flair
Our post today is from Lorraine and Marie, thanks a heap girls.
Our group was lucky enough to have a large number of F.Q.'s donated, perfect to make up lots of charity quilts for Sunny Kids.
A workshop was organised for yesterday to start the creations. Sue, came up with a paper pieced design to create 8 H.S.T blocks all in one go, without pre-cutting the fatties.
Firstly, the instructions
And here is one done previously,
Everyone set to work to copy the design onto butcher's paper
...getting them to where they had to be...
anything needing done, was done.
Karen was keeping exactly 1/4" either side of her lines
Tearing off all that paper
Now we know why Sue said to use small stitches.
The rest of the Cottage went along as usual
Gwen has her hand piecing group tracing around templates.
Lots of concentration and accuracy. This is going to be one really
beautiful raffle quilt.
Barbara has a scarf nearly as long as she is tall. Time to finish it up.

(This has to be the ultimate in a 'head chop' don't you think?......sorry Barbara - A)
Another version of the H.S.T. quilt layout, someone said there are about 126 layout variations - Wow
It will be interesting to see what all the half square triangles look like next week.
There are some very exciting exhibitions coming up, the first one is being presented by the Painting Group and the Porcelain Painters Group.
Starts tomorrow as you can see from the flyer, got a glimpse of some really beautiful work, it is promising to be another fab. exhibition of works from our talented members. Pop in to the Atrium if you are in our neck of the woods this weekend.
The other upcoming exhibition is the 'moody hues ~ emotions in colour' exhibition by the Textile Art Group.
There is a little teaser of goodies on display in the glass cabinet at the Atrium/Cottage entrance, if you pop in to the 'Beautiful Paintings' exhibition, don't miss treating yourself to some visual loveliness from the Textile Art gals.
Patchwork Group is excited that our Lyn Ballinger Challenge will be on display at the 'moody hues ~ emotions in colour' exhibition.
The Lyn Ballinger challenge is held annually and is part of our Biennial Quilt Show, but on the off years the Textile Art Group very kindly allow us to display our challenge for public viewing and voting.
