A very special 'Thank You'....

...and an interesting take on a 1600 quilt, - you know the one, the Jelly Roll Race quilt, and some more gorgeous hexies....did I just say 'gorgeous hexis'???, oh my, that's a worry, what with the hexie bug running rampant.

The help of many people go towards the smooth running of our Quilt Show and the lovely Liz, from our local 'Bakers Delight' is one such person.
Liz has been supplying us with her delicious, light as air, scones for Devonshire Teas for some years now, and they are always freshly baked and ready for pick up, along with a few extra donations  added.
As a 'Thank You', and in a joint effort, Pat created a lap quilt, the Machine Embroidery gals stitched up an appropriate quilt label, and Chris stitched it to the quilt, which was then presented to Liz one very chilly morning recently by Group Leader Sheila and Kitchen Manager Chris,

There have been a number of '1600 jelly roll quilts' making a debut lately, Sheila, who is working away at using up the 'Blue Stash', thought the idea showed promise, but not for her those skinny little strips, no siree, far faster to use a 5" strip, she bought in her WIP to show today, along with a bag of triangles created by the seam joins, wonder what they will eventually be??

Wendy has so many Hexie projects all on the go together, she keeps getting leftovers that need to be used, hence a new project is born.
This is a basket of flowers wall hanging that we will see as a finished item in the near future.
Marcia is also stitchin' away at Hexies, tinsy little 1/2" ones, there was a bit of playtime laying these little beauties out for effect.

Thursday night..............

After the excitement of Maureen's trunk show we all got on with our own work.................
