Magnificient Quilt, results and a few funnies.

We have all seen Wendy working on these blocks in past Wednesday meetings, Well here is the finished quilt and it is magnificent.

Do you have any hints to share, Sue has asked what you are all using as a filter?
a search came up with the suggestion of car cleaning cloths, i.e. microfiber cloths, can't imagine dragging air through a microfiber cloth. Actually, hang on a sec, got some new ones, will go try. If I don't come back you will know it was not a success...well I'm back, Not too bad actually, one layer is not so noticeable, two layers was a little more effort but not to the stage where you felt that it was a challenge to breathe.

Caught sight of this idea, A bucket hat with face shield, it's recommended you also wear a face mask under the shield.

A search online will bring up a few sites, you can get one for about AU$28, so far haven't found a pattern, surely some talented soul will come up with the goods in the near future.

Complementary colours and colours psychology[edit]

"This is what I have been doing, making drainage bags, not cleaning my sewing room. But am keeping busy."

Our group competition on guessing who's sewing room or space is now ended. We had 14 lovely ladies who sent us pics of their sewing room/space, when we get back to the cottage there will be a little 'thank you' something for taking the time to participate.
The competition is to match the sewing space pics to their owner. The first gal to e-mail me with the most correct match-ups will win a cute sewing lanyard with a removable phone pouch. Good Luck to you all, oh and B.T.W. there are hints in both the pics and the words.

We have a number of followers to our blog, and in this unsettling time of lockdowns and self isolating it would be nice to have a competition that we could all could participate in, any ideas?? leave a comment below or e-mail me and we will have a go at organising another competition.

Cleaning Tip and a challenge

Wendy is the queen of cleaning ideas and home made cleaners. Her general cleaner with Eucalyptus oil is a winner, one of our faves.
Hello everyone
I thought you might be interested in a cleaning tip I have recently tried as we are all wanting to keep things especially clean at this time. For any bathroom grime or mould get your toilet cleaner, the gel one works best, and just run it along the grout lines in the shower or in the sink around taps etc. Leave overnight and next morning it all comes sparkling clean with hardly any effort.

With self isolation and social distancing, cooking a large batch of anything probably isn't what you want to spend your time on. This recipe surfaced on face book this morning courtesy of 'The One Pot Chef', just 3 ingredients (1 C white sugar, 1 egg, 1 C peanut butter) made 25 small biscuits.

No, haven't tried it but it looks intriguing, and being only small bickies, you won't have to be popping into the togs anytime soon.

A bit of silliness to make you laugh, nothing to do with stress, not at all!!
The Fruit & Veg question keeps getting asked, when to wash and how many times
Well I have to tell you, it can be overdone.
The cleanest lettuce in town, indeed the entire darned country can be found at my house.
Yep, washed the lettuce & laid it out to dry in a folded tea towel. We then had a menu change …..grrrr….
The tea towel got collected up with other used towels…(you can see where this is going, can’t you?) into the tea towel basket, next day into the washing machine.
Fluffy green stuff everywhere!!!
How many non- loads does one have to process before it is all cleaned out!? The darn stuff keeps reappearing, and of course with these new machines you have to have a special tool to remove the agitator, and no one wants to make house calls to old folk.
Over it I am.
If you see any of us around with fluffy green stuff, please, be kind, its proving to be a tad tenacious.
