For those of us who loved Craftsy, more bad news I'm afraid, a f/book post this a.m. from So Sew Easy bought the bad news that Bluprint is closing down.

There is a letter to customers from CEO John Levisay that you should read which says in part:

'For now, I wanted to let you know that we are looking at various options to allow those of you who have purchased individual classes to receive a copy of your classes. This includes individual classes purchased with own forever credits.'
So folks, go brush up on your purchased classes and down load your purchased patterns while there is still time. Hopefully we will be able to access or copy our purchased classes, but with this crazy world, there are never any guarantees.

Rose Haliday-Smith,

We are sharing some sad news today from Karen about Rose for others who may be interested.
Sue has unearthed a very helpful tutorial from Laura of 'So Very Easy' and the links to Kelli Fannins Pokemon, Harry Potter and Minecraft Quilt alongs.

"Hi all – it is with much sadness that Sue Webb has let Sheila know that Rose Halliday-Smith, a long time member of the Buderim Craft Cottage has passed away.
Rose was a valued member of Fabric Art as well as the Patchwork Group.

Rose was a judge of our rainforest challenge years ago. Sheila also thinks Rose and Marg Gibbs did the 50 years wall hanging design.

Funeral numbers are restricted but if anyone was particularly keen to attend the service for Rose, they should contact Sue Webb or contact me and I can pass the message on.

Our thoughts and wishes go out to Rose’s family and friends."

"Rose Halliday-Smith was the most creative and original person I have known.
She dabbled in almost all types of creative fabric ideas. She has exhibited and taught in venues almost everywhere.
She was always ready and willing to give help and advice, and, if necessary, a different viewpoint and she always did it with the most lovely way of speaking with a smile in her voice and on her face.
I haven’t seen her for a couple of years but she always tried to visit out quilt show and had nice things to say about everybody’s work.
A great lady and will be missed by me as well as many others.

Anyone remember the poetress Pam Ayres? Well, she's 73 and still going strong. This is her latest ode to coronavirus...

I'm normally a social girl
I love to meet my mates
But lately with the virus here
We can't go out the gates

You see, we are the 'oldies' now
We need to stay inside
If they haven't seen us for a while
They'll think we've upped and died.

They'll never know the things we did
Before we got this old
There wasn't any Facebook
So not everything was told.

There was sex and drugs and rock 'n roll
The pill and miniskirts
We smoked, we drank, we partied
And were quite outrageous flirts.

Then we settled down, got married
And turned into someone's mum,
Somebody's wife, then nana,
Who on earth did we become?

We didn't mind the change of pace
Because our lives were full
But to bury us before we're dead
Is like a red rag to a bull!
So here you find me stuck inside
For four weeks, maybe more
I finally found myself again
Then I had to close the door!

It didn’t really bother me
I'd while away the hour
I'd bake for all the family
But I've got no flaming flour!

Now Netflix is just wonderful
I like a gutsy thriller
I'm swooning over Idris
Or some random sexy killer.

At least I've got a stash of booze
For when I'm being idle
There's wine and whiskey, even gin
If I'm feeling suicidal!

So let's all drink to lockdown
To recovery and health
And hope this awful virus
Doesn't decimate our wealth.

We'll all get through the crisis
And be back to join our mates
Just hoping I'm not far too wide
To fit through the flaming gates!

The Girls on Fire...

Sue has another 2 wonderful quilts to share with us, made for her Twin Great Grandaughters.

Have a little of the 'bite the dust' going on in my neck of the woods, finally finished all the Minecraft characters for 3 quilts & 3 cushions, and got this one sashed yesterday, now just two more to sash and then the fun of sandwiching and quilting - need them done A.S.A.P.

Lotsa news, and the excitement begins to mount

Well, we all got the memo, Quilt Show is up and running...25th to 27th June, 9a.m. to 3p.m. each day. How simple is that!
The theme is 'Buderim Fabric Garden' can't wait to see all the lovely garden inspired quilts, a quick search found everything from a traditional floral applique like this beauty. Kim McLean's Flower Garden Quilt.

A couple of wags have sent us a giggle or two, firstly this from Sue with the new days of the week and a couple of covid influenced observations.

Can we uninstall 2020 and reinstall it again?... I think it has a virus

Just asked a 6-year-old he understands why there is no school. He said yes because they are out of toilet paper.

Coronavirus has turned us all into dogs. We roam the house all day looking for food. We’re told “no” if we get too close to strangers and we get really excited about car rides.

If you thought toilet paper was crazy ... just wait until 300 million people all want a haircut appointment.

2020 is a unique Leap Year. It has 29 days in February, 300 days in March and 5 years in April.

Does anyone know if we can take showers yet or should we just keep washing our hands???

You think it’s bad now? In 20 years our country will be run by people home schooled by day drinkers….

Day 7 at home and the dog is looking at me like, “See? This is why I chew the furniture.”

Cute bowl holders and a puzzle to solve

Sue has a puzzle for us all, and I can tell you its a relief to find the camel!!

• The Head is a test to see if you can find the camel.
• Doctors claim that if you can find the Camel, you are far from developing Alzheimer’s disease.
